Each year Delta Dental compiles the preceding year’s work into an annual report, which tells the story of the company’s efforts. From expanding business to highlighting efforts to build healthy, smart, vibrant communities.
Theme: Reaching in, out and up
Scope: Design a multi-paged document setup to print on tabloid-sized paper and folded in half to create a letter-sized, saddle-stitched booklet. Create a secondary interactive PDF version with clickable links.
Timeframe: 3-5 days
Outcome: The project changed to be a digital-only piece, so because of time-restraints and not wanting to lose the look/feel of the document setup to be viewed in spreads, I kept it at the tabloid size. I then reworked the front and back "covers" to fit the wider format.

Theme: Unstoppable

Theme: Vibrant
Scope: To create a print version of the report but then I came up with the idea to include QR codes within the print version of the report that would link to additional content on a companion website. The website would be built by an external company and populated with content by my coworkers as I designed the report.
Timeline: 2 weeks (report only)
Outcome: Everything was executed accordingly. The covers were printed and sent out externally to be be gloss coated but the rest was produced and assembled internally. However, since this report, my coworker took over managing the website, which broke some of the QR code links. (www.vibrantcommunities.com—formerly www.buildingbrighterfutures.com)

Theme: Making connections
Scope: To create a printed report, which was a different size this year and sent out to have the report bound into a book format.
Timeline: 3 weeks
Theme: Turned out to be a 56-page self-cover book. It looked wonderful but we had to over order because the books were sent out to be bound and it needed to be completed at the same time in order to save money.
